AASV Summer Conference: Advanced Techniques for Swine Veterinarians

Program details and online registration are now available for the AASV Summer Conference, Advanced Techniques for Swine Veterinarians, at http://www.aasv.org/summerconf/. The conference will be held June 4-6 in Ames, Iowa, just prior to the World Pork Expo in Des Moines. Registration ($225 per person) is limited to AASV members and will be capped at 120 participants.

The conference program focuses on four areas of particular interest to swine practitioners: information management, project management, reproduction, and diagnostics. The educational sessions will be presented in a combination of lecture and laboratory formats at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition, an evening dinner session at the Holiday Inn Ames Conference Center (formerly Comfort Suites) will feature practice tips. The conference provides 14 hours of veterinary continuing education. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop computer to gain the maximum benefit from the sessions.

Conference sponsors Novartis Animal Health US, Merial, Fort Dodge Animal Health, and Elanco Animal Health have provided financial support for the evening social events, which include a welcome reception on Monday, June 4, and the Practice Tips Dinner on Tuesday, June 5.

The program for the conference was developed by the AASV Wet Lab Committee: Drs. Mike Mull, chair, C. Scanlon Daniels, Jeff Harker, Erin Johnson, Randy Jones, Locke Karriker, and Jason Kelly.
